Privacy policy
What data this website collects, what for, who handles it and how long it is kept.
Data controller
The data controller is Ianis VERVAEKE, the publisher of this website. For any question about your data: contact@ianisvervaeke.com.
Data collected
When you use the contact form, the following data is recorded: your name, your email address, the subject and content of your message, the language of the page, the date sent, and a technical fingerprint calculated from your IP address.
The IP address itself is not recorded by the site: only a fingerprint calculated from it is, solely to limit abusive submissions from the same connection. A fingerprint is still personal data and is treated as such.
There are no visitor accounts, and no other data is requested.
Purposes and legal bases
Answering your message and, where relevant, preparing a collaboration: the publisher's legitimate interest in answering enquiries, or pre-contractual steps taken at your request.
Limiting abusive submissions and protecting the site: the publisher's legitimate interest.
Recipients
Your data is intended for the publisher alone. It passes through and is stored by technical providers acting on their behalf: the website's hosting provider (Hostinger International Ltd.) and, for receiving the email, the publisher's email provider. It is neither sold nor passed on for commercial purposes.
The hosting provider may keep technical connection logs (IP address, date, page requested) to ensure the security and operation of the service, under its own policy.
Retention period
Messages sent through the form are kept for 12 months from receipt, then deleted automatically, together with the fingerprint attached to them.
If an exchange leads to a collaboration, the relevant exchanges may be kept for the duration of the relationship, then for the applicable legal periods — for example five years for civil limitation periods, ten years for accounting records.
Your rights
You may ask for access to your data, its rectification, its erasure, the restriction of its processing, or object to it; and, where the law provides for it, its portability.
To exercise these rights, write to contact@ianisvervaeke.com. The publisher replies within one month, and may ask for proof of identity in case of doubt.
If you believe your rights are not being respected, you may lodge a complaint with the CNIL (cnil.fr), the French data protection authority.
Cookies and trackers
This website places no cookies on your device when you browse it, and uses no advertising trackers. Fonts, images, sounds and scripts are served from the site itself, with no third-party service.
The browser keeps only, for the life of the tab, your position in the page when you change language (session storage). This information stays on your device, is never transmitted, and disappears when the tab is closed.
